MY STORY
Make your own book

A multi-disciplinary workshop led by 3 resident artists featuring cyanotype, textiles and bookbinding. Over 3 weekends, you will explore a variety of techniques to create the structure and content of your own, special book. Your book will tell the story you want it to tell with its own unique style and aesthetic.

Explore cyanotypes with Photographer Gregg McNeill, learning all about the chemistry and the history of cyanotype printing. Create pages for your book using objects from everyday life as well as photos that are personal to you.

Textile Artist, Agnieszka Marciniak, will teach you how to work with different fabrics and materials and introduce you to techniques that will allow you to create a stunning cover and unique details for your book.

The book will then come together and you’ll be introduced to bookbinding by Conservator & Bookbinder Gloria Conti. All elements created in previous weeks will be sewn together to become either a usable object to grow over time or a beautiful object of art to cherish. Finished books will be featured in an exhibition at D2.

4 class workshop: £200

All materials are included although you are welcome to bring extra items that are personal to you that you would like to add to your book. Please bring lunch with you, teas/coffees will be provided.
